Stouffer’s macaroni and cheese has been in stores for years and the moment it hits your plate, it becomes an instant family favorite.
Thankfully, Stephanie Manley over at CopyKat Recipes has come up with a recipe that tastes exactly like the Stouffer’s version, but without all the preservatives!
So instead of running to the freezer aisle, pick up a few of these ingredients and make it yourself!
To get started you’ll need:
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
2 cups whole milk
8 ounces colby cheese
8 ounces mild cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon dry mustard powder
1/4 teaspooon paprika
8 ounces elbow macaroni pasta
Over medium, heat add your butter and flour and stir constantly for about one minute. Begin to slowly add your milk until you’re left with a thick white sauce.
Shred your cheese and add to your sauce, along with the dry mustard and paprika. Stir until the cheese has melted.
Pour your cheese sauce over eight ounces of cooked pasta in a two-quart baking dish and then bake for 20 minutes in a 350 degree oven.
One taste of this and your family will never ask for anything else for dinner again!
